Kari's family and I, and as I understand some of you now, have been contacted by a woman that wants to write a book on this case. While I'm sure she is well-intentioned, Kari's family has no desire to participate in anything like this and have made thier feelings known to her. It won't help serve justice. And they worry about how it would affect the girls in the future. Please keep this in mind if you are contacted. And I hope this doesn't run anyone off from being a part of this support for Justice for Kari. Your prayers and support are a great encouragement.

Thank you, Shannon. My granddaughters have gone through so much already. Tragically, they will go through much more. Jim and I have no desire to see either of their parents on the cover of some book. It doesn't serve justice. More importantly, it will only bring Kensi and Grace more hurt. I will fight against that.

Not at all surprised that someone would want to write a book about Kari. The only purpose it would serve would be to make lots and lots of money for the author.
I applaud Linda and Jim for not wanting to be involved in this book. And I certainly hope that none of Kari's friends and/or acquaintances will participate.
It is outrageous to profit from the grief of others.
I'm not sure the author's intent is all that bad, but I think Linda and Jim have to walk a fine line with what is put out there in their daughter's name because of those two sweet grand daughters. This woman contacted me and was very nice, but I don't want to be a part of anything that Linda and Jim do not endorse. Kari is not a case or a cause, she is/was their daughter and the mother to two sweet young girls. Two girls who will have a hard enough time with the extraordinary circumstances they are in through no fault of their own. I would not want to be a part of ANYTHING that might even remotely add more to their unfair burden. So thanks CI SMITH, but that's not what I am here for.
Maybe it's not the right time--but you may feel differently in the future, after the trial. The only reason I say this is because of the amount of "truth" that will be never see the light of day in a courtroom situation. The trial may bring about justice, or it may fall short. There may be suggestions that border on outright lies, that will be a part of the public record after trial, and it may serve the cause of truth and justice to have an author examine the details that the trial will not.
As for Kari's daughters--it's hard to say what will lend to their healing as the years carry on...

Thank you for your perspective. You may be right. I just don't know. all I know is that for now I don't want to do anything but give justice a chance. Whatever choices Jim and I make will entail a great deal of prayer and discussion with people who are trained to help Kensi and Grace heal.

Not surprised to see that someone is looking into this... But I've always thought that if there is a book to be written, it should be written by Linda Dulin, about the fight for justice, her personal drive and as a tribute to Kari and about her life... something that later her daughters would be proud to read and learn more about the love their grandmother had for her daughter and them. - Jennifer Schultz
