Why? Seriously....why??

Why? Why am I here? Why do we fight? Why is Kari worth fighting for? Why do her girls matter?

All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing.
~Edmund Burke

He who does not punish evil, commands it to be done.
~Leonardo da Vinci

When good people in any country cease their vigilance and struggle, then evil men prevail.
~Pearl S. Buck

The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing.
~Albert Einstein

Be honest in your judgment and do not decide at a glance (superficially and by appearances); but judge fairly and righteously.
~God

I'm a bit partial to GOD and Einstein. But the rest speak volumes as well.

Thanks for the chuckle.

At least I'm making posts on my own blog. You're leaving sissy, anonymous comments on nutty Shannon's blog.

I'll be the nut. You be the sissy nut.

GET A LIFE.

Well okay, so I'll just be the
non-anonymous,
impassioned,
relatively unsissy
nut here!

Why? Easy. Three familiar little words:

Justice. For. Kari.

Kari Baker's life was snuffed out by the man she loved and trusted.

Matt Baker is free for the moment, free to speak his lies all over the community, all over the newspapers, all over the airwaves. He feels confident in his lies, no matter how bizarre they sound, because he erroneously believes that in killing Kari, he silenced her voice forever.

So why this blog?

Because Shannon decided not to "look on and do nothing." Not to stand by and "let evil prevail."

Like Kari's family and her many other friends, Shannon knew it was wrong to allow Kari's voice to die with her and remain forever silenced. Thanks in part to this blog and Shannon's dedication, the cry for justice is ringing out louder and clearer every day.

Listen. Hear it?

Family members, friends, coworkers, church members, students and parents, and people who come here to discuss the case, even those little blue bumper stickers everywhere you look: These are a multitude of voices that all blend together and speak out for Kari.

Thank you, Shannon, for your quest to shine the light on the truth about Kari's death.

Those who knew her and loved her will never, ever give up until Matt's lies are silenced by the walls of the prison where he belongs.

Shannon, these quotes are perfect.

Sadie, thank you for your passionate battle cry! :)

Our pursuit for justice is very difficult; it would be so much easier to just let it go. However, we can't. There is too much at stake here, especially for our granddaughters. That is all I can say at this time....except to thank all those who have lifted us up and encouraged us in so many ways.

Shannon, your blog means so much to my entire family. My sweet dad even reads it (daily!). In fact, I think he has even sent you an email. He is a big fan ;).
