There is an interesting narrative today from one of Matt's former church members in Hewitt. You will find it by going to the comment section of the Waco Trib article about Matt's fund-raiser letter, located below. It is very telling, and the folks who think Matt is being unfairly portrayed in all of this should read it. He appears to have two personalities!"
I looked back at the comments in the Waco Trib and found two separate comments that fit that description:
"By church member - May 14, 2008 7:13 PM I was around at this time. I am a member of the church where matt preached and I saw first hand what the Dulins did and how they were treated. We heard matt talk and we heard how he disparaged the Dulins and kari (yes, he had the nerve to even say terrible things about his dead wife to us). The Dulins reached out to matt and the girls in every way they could. He allowed them to keep the girls on sunday afternoons because he needed a baby sitter. however, he stopped that very quickly. He even began pretending the girls were sick on Sunday and asking other church people (he wouldn't let the Dulins) to babysit them. He wanted to keep them away form their grandparents, so he kept them out of church. People in the church were very uncomfortable with his behavior. The Dulins offered to help him pick-up the girls from school, get him a housekeeper, and bring food. He didn't want anything to do with them from the very beginning. He was hightailing it over to Troy every chance he could get and he didn't want the girls around the Dulins. They might talk. Be very careful. It appears you don't live in our area or you would know that who Matt pretends to be in Kerrville isn't who he really is. We witnessed it all. We know."
AND
"By null - May 14, 2008 11:27 PM I too was in the congegation before and after Kari died. Matt went so far as to make comments comparing how fast he was back to preaching and it was for the love of his congregation. He recalled only missing one Sunday when Kassidy died and compared it to the one Sunday he missed for the visitation of his dead wife. What I recall is the lack of grief in his eyes. It just didn't seem right. Looking back maybe it was relief in his eyes. Matt manipulated his flock and he continues to manipulate the people of Kerrville. Don't give this man a single cent of your money. Instead, send it to the Dulins to help fund their endeavor to provide Justice for Kari. Not once have you heard them ask for money due to the financial burdon this brings upon them."

mind boggling
The behavior of Matt at the school where he showed up for events with his girlfriend and his reaction to help from some there that wanted to help sounds like what the church people witnessed. It's not that he grieves different. He hardly seems to grieve at all. In fact, he was almost jubilant just days after. I learned so much by watching him those times. I sign anonymous because I am scared o f him.
Speechless.......
i have no fear of Matt, my only fear is of whether Shannon decided to post this or not. Probably not, but oh well. I heard Matt those first few Sundays after Kari was not present, and was around the Dulins also. I NEVER saw the Dulins cry, or even look sad. So, I guess I don't know what makes it wrong for Matt to not appear sad, but ok for the Dulins to not appear sad. A double standard??
He paraded her around school and town like a prize. AND no matter what he tells the media about "dates with kids," that's a lie. Too many people know better.
Okay. You "fear" whether I'll post this. I did. I'm not anonymous in any way.
I "fear" you will never post under your real name.

Well, I would bet every dime I have that you live in Kerrville and never even met the Dulins. I would bet you are part of the Kerrville cult.
Right, the Dulins weren't sad. Well, they didn't run out and try to find a daughter replacement.
Matt ran right out and tried to find a wife replacement. Let me correct that: he found a replacement BEFORE KARI DIED.
Do you now how crazy you sound when you say the Dulins didn't seem sad???? Just like Matt, you make such ridiculous statments that you can't be taken seriously or believed. Wait. Could you be Matt?
get outa town...oh, you were never here :).
My name is Kim and I sat in that funeral home for nearly two hours while Matt sereved as what seemed to be a host. He would meet and greet all who came to pay respects. He visited and carried on like he was at a social event. Meanwhile Linda made her way to the closed casket a multitude of times and laid her hand on top of it as if to pat a baby on its back. The DVD caught her eye often as it did mine. She sought comfort from Jim and other family members as they cried together in the pews. At no time did Matt shed a tear for his wife while I was there. Cool, calm, and collected. I know it is hard to believe that people can remember things with such certainty. I mean look at Matt. He can't even remember the events leading up to Kari's death. But to those of us whom Kari really mattered, those days were at the top of our lists as some of the worst in our lives. You don't forgot those days.
Don't think for a minute that Matt does not remember in searing detail every second leading up to and following the death of Kari Baker. He does. His memory problem is all about keeping his "stories" straight.
If you always tell the truth, it is easy to remember what happened, for the facts don't change.
I guess you could say Matt's problem is remembering what he has already said.....
"Multiple Personalities" One thing about how the mind works, especially for those in self-denial and refuse to self-reflect, always beaming with self-righteousness, are those who will inadvertently project their own behavior upon an innocent. The innocent in this case is Kari. In the 48 hour special, Matt hoped to portray Kari as being someone else in front of her friends and family than she was at home. Funny how Matt projected his own behavior on Kari - having a different personality in kerrville compared with his behavior at this other church and in front of other witnesses. Only Matt can attest to Kari's "multiple personalities."
Matt lives in a delusional world and he even admits his psychotic behavior a bit when he projected it on innocent Kari.
It's only a matter of time when he gets caught up in his oh so many contradictions such as the recorded ones (Kari turning over to go to sleep or being wide awake when he left).
I wish he would just admit it, but most liars even lie to themselves and come to believe in their "double think."
This isn't 1984, Matt can't keep getting away with re-writing history.
Shannon why is it that you only make comments about people you consider to be Matt supporters being anonymous and you do not do that to people who are obviously are Kari supporters????? I notice that you often do that. Your anonymous Kari supporters often do this to Matt supporters as well for which I find humorous that one anonymous nags another!
......so asks the Anonymous commentor.
I'm not quite sure what your question is referring to.
Well Shannon lets see if I can help you as to just what my question was referring to! Shannon said...

Thats what I am referring to! You seem to only make comment about people posting "real name" when you think they are Matt supporters! Why is that?
Well, Still Anonymous.... I knew which comment you were talking about because I think that's the only one I wrote on this thread with the word anonymous in it. I simply used the word "fear" and put it in quotes as a play on words from the original commentor. I thought it was a curious choice of words for them to use....they FEAR me not posting their comment.
I don't know why you're getting on to me like I go on and on about anonymous commentors. I've made it perfectly clear from the beginning I know that some people will want to comment anonymously and that's their right....I could disable anonymous comments completely if I wanted to. But I'd rather have a place for people who support justice for Kari to come together with other supporters....oh, I don't know.....for support and information during this difficult time....whether they sign their name or not.
What do you mean that you do not understand why I get on to you like you go on and on about anonymous comments? You do! Maybe you need to go back and read your own comments because you say it often! I cannot even count the number of times you make shrewd comments about people that leave "anonymous" comments. Your right about one thing, you do welcome anonymous comments by people...but only the ones YOU think are supporters in your direction!
I think this little mini-conversation is simply an attempt to take away attention from the point of the post and the comments about that post. But I'll answer once more.
Are you sure that you're not confusing others' shrewd comments about anonymous posters and my comments in general? I do at times get frustrated with certain anonymous commentors. But my frustration has more to do with the content of their comment more so than the fact that they are anonymous. Like I say, I allow anonymous comments. And of course I allow anonymous comments that are supportive of Kari and this fight for justice for her. That's what this blog is about.....justice for Kari. I allow some anonymous comments from Matt supporters. I don't have to do that. No, I don't allow them all. There's a fine line in my judgement. If 90% of your comment is fine and dandy and publish-able and it's concluded with one sentence that I can't publish, the whole thing is out. If you don't like my fine line, I say on each comment form to feel free to email me and ask me why not. If you don't want to take me up on that offer, don't complain. If you don't like where I stand on how I operate my own blog, feel free to not come here and further irriate yourself.
BACK TO WHAT YVETTE WAS SAYING...
I have had so many conversations with people who have come to the same conclusion she has come to about Matt projecting his personal struggles on Kari. I know this may come as a shock to Matt supporters who read this blog, but there are many, many people who support the Dulins and their quest for the truth who never read or comment on this blog! But still they have reached these same conclusions as most of these commenters. Do you have any idea how many people are praying DAILY that Matt will just confess or that the person who has the knowledge needed to force Matt to tell the real truth will come forward... if they haven't already.
Do you feel it? Do you feel the truth slowly coming back up to the surface? Matt thought he had plunged it down so far that it was gone...but no. The truth is still there. It's fighting it's way back to the light to day to be revealed in undeniable ways. I can almost feel it!
Yes, I feel it. I feel the truth coming to the surface. I feel the day in the near future where people will know the truth, that Matt did NOT kill Kari.
To Anonymous 5:45 -
Those that know Matt is guilty base that on evidence.
What are you basing your feelings that he didn't on? Feelings? That a preacher just couldn't do such a thing? That because he's nice to you that he could never do anything like this?
