You know.....you just never know. Your kids bring home stuff from school ALL the time. Some things stand out as special. Some don't. Of course, this year's ornament was special from Day 1. Yet after Christmas 2005 it was packed away without worry or second-thought. Neither Brody nor I knew exactly how special it was at the time.
It wasn't until the next Christmas when the tree was being trimmed and the ornaments came out. You "ooohhhhh" and "ahhhhh" over so many of them remembering where you were when you bought it....or who gave it to you.....or "this is for you when you grow up," etcetera.
Well, that first "Christmas after" Brody was very protective of this one. For Christmas 2006, Bro received one of the things he had been asking for for a while.....a nice safe. After Christmas 2006, when the tree and ornaments were being packed away, he took this ornament and put it in his new safe....along with another special picture of him with his Kindergarten teacher that had some major health issues and he never got to see again.
For Christmas 2007, it's as special as last year.......and then also much more poignant for me.

Christmas
Every year the kids at SV Elementary take a picture with their teacher for an ornament. Some of them seem to be more special than others. ;) Finally found the key to Bro's safe to get this special one out for the tree.

It will be fair very soon.
No, I never met Kari or Matt, but based on everything I have seen, read and heard -- I am convinced that Matt killed Kari. Largely because there is such a signifcant lack of facts to support multiple aspects of his story.
It sounds like the world is a better place because Kari was in it. Her beauty reached far beyond what we can visually see. It's a shame that her life on earth was cut painfully short. I can see why you and others are passionate about the case.
If you still believe and are convinced that Matt is guilty, then you have not been watching the later videoes or reading the newspapers. As they are poointing out the other side and not just the affidavit that was so full of holes. San Antonio had a report on one of their tv stations last week.
I've seen the news lately and personally don't find it helpful to Matt's case. I missed the San Antonio one last week. Care to post a link?
And all of that later news came from MB. Geez, that makes it credible. He doesn't have a vested interest in this case.
I found the San Antonio news story and video. It's really basically the same thing that has been presented by Matt and his attorney in last months's stories and videos. Except now they are pulling the girls into it more. I will try to post the links in a bit.
Above, Anonymous says: "If you still believe and are convinced that Matt is guilty, then you have not been watching the later videoes or reading the newspapers."
That is almost laughable. I mean....as if a news story is going to CONVINCE anyone of anything. Please. It's a story written by someone that just interviewed that particular side of the case. It's a story. I would say that for either side of the case. News stories and reports (and even blogs) are not where you're going to convince anyone. And I didn't see any new "facts" or "evidence" in them. Just more video looking for sympathy for Matt's circumstance....and using the girls to crank it up a notch.
Just my opinion.

Yes, it is "Laughable" when you are so quick to say that all of the media at THIS time is just media, and not to be trusted. However, how quick you were to post the affidavit and the early media as being so true. Double standard? The girls were first brought into the media by the Dulins when they brought their civil suit against Matt. By name in all of the newspapers. Then when they finally persuaded the police to get involved and finally had their dad arrested they were quick to show the photos of the girls. Photos were the only thing they could show, as the girls were not there physically. What would they have done if the girls were present? We will never know. Linda Dulin was quoted as saying she wished the Bakers had kept the girls from knowing about the jail time, etc. What world does she reside in? Were the Bakers suppose to just ignore the fact that Matt left for 5 weeks, and everything was just perfect at home? All of the counselors and psychologists would recommend that the more truthfully you are with children the better able they are to handle what life throws them.

My response: Did you see where I stated that I would say the same thing for news stories on either side? Where have I ever to any news story (early or late ones) said, "OMG. This story is so true"? I haven't. I try to post links to all sides of the news on this case. But I've not said, "OMG. This story is so true."
A police arrest warrant/affadavit, for the record, is NOT media. It was posted in the media. But it is an official police record as far as I know. Quite different. Do I know or can I say every word in the affadavit is perfectly accurate, of course I cannot. I don't know each and every point. But what I do know convinces me beyond a reasonable doubt. But that will all be proved or disproved in the trial....not on the news, newspapers or blogs. And I think we all look forward to the truth coming out.

Hey poster--to your comment:
Linda Dulin was quoted as saying she wished the Bakers had kept the girls from knowing about the jail time, etc.
Find that quote....come on...put up or shut up. I have read all the articles and news reports. I never read anything that said the above.
Come on, of course they will know about your jail time, just as they will know about your prison time (oops..I guess that gives away that I believe MB is writing this. Sorry. I was trying to be so sly).
To thisisyourbrainon:
I'm guessing that someone decided to shut up instead of put up, eh?

All in good time. Why share everything. There will be a right time to tell all.
