I do not in any way fault this blogger for speaking his mind. It seems that plenty of "Christians" have torpedoed fodder to him and others with similar beliefs. It's just a different angle that Christians don't aways take into account when they stumble.....or crash into a brick wall is the case. Others are always watching. Our examples scream out to everyone around us. Here is an exerpt from Deep Thoughts:
"Former Baptist pastor and current part-time youth minister
Matthew "Matt" Baker was arrested for the murder of his wife yesterday. If one
is looking for proof that being a Christian bestows some higher
moral values on its adherents, this case will serve as a classic example of
why this type of reasoning is flawed.
The allegations are damming for a normal person, for a
pastor they show an utter lack moral conviction. Matt Baker was a pastor when he
starting having an affair. His desire to be with his new girlfriend is alleged
to have driven him to murder his wife. Baker is alleged to have researched how
to kill his wife via the Internet and then administering the drugs that caused
her death. "

I don't believe MB was ever a man of God. He used the cloak of God as his disguise for evil. He had a dark life for many years before he killed his wife. Satan is dancing in the street. That's ok. Satan can dance now. But his dancing days are going to be over soon enough. We know how this story will end. Read the Word.
Read PEOPLE OF THE LIE, by Dr. Scott Peck. You will see that there are many who "talk the talk" and pass themselves off as the real deal, but they are in actuality "people of the lie" who have allegiance primarily to themselves--and ultimately to satan. They never had a personal relationship with Christ, for their egocentricity could never be put aside long enough to allow Him to lead them. They are close by, and they fool us all the time. While God calls us not to the judgement of others--He does tell us we can be fruit inspectors.
Matt Baker appears to be a smart and complex individual, capable of "being" whomever he needs to "BE." Were it not so, he could never have been convincing in the many roles he played--pastor, loving husband and father, trusted friend, and faithful son to his parents. He fits the description of the deceiver Dr. Peck characterizes in his book--which is out of print, but still around and VERY worth your time.
Agreed.
And yes, that is an amazing book. I think I have a couple of them here. I bought and read it about 15 years ago and then couldn't find it and bought it again a few years ago.
Again, I've had the hair on the back of my neck stand up when close to evil. Sometimes you can just feel it.
That is an excellent book. Another is "the sociopath next door."
Hey, about us being fruit inspectors...Could we agree that Matt Baker appears to be a LEMON???
IF MB is a lemon, than maybe we should be more Christian and allow Matt to make lemonade? Huh? Or are we all Christians, or just out for revenge. I thought revenge was of the Devil.........
Justice and revenge are not one and the same. You don't get to make lemonade when you kill your wife and the mother of your two daughters. Well, unless your job in prison is working in the cafeteria.
I am truly trying to figure out how anyone on this site can call themselves a christian!!!!!!!! Last time I read the bible it talked about "not judging" "not casting the first stone" " cleaning your side of the street".
God commands us to judge/test/discern.
Look into it.
God commands us to let Him be the judge. He also commands us to not condem until we clean our own side of the street!!!!!
The jury will be the judge, and they will come to look at Matt with steely eyes. When all the facts are laid bare, truth will be revealed and judgement will be swift.
Oh my you truly must have an agenda!!
You bet we have an agenda! Justice! Matt Baker needs to go to prison for killing his wife. My prayers are that Kari's parents will be able to raise their granddaughters. This will be the little girls only chance for a healthy life. Yes, I am from Waco. I knew both Matt and Kari. Let me change that: I knew Kari. No one really knew Matt.
So does anyone know what happened to that gal he was dating (planned on marrying!)? We used to see her at the the girls' school. She had the nerve to start showing up very soon after Kari's death. Shame on her! SHAME ON HER! They both paraded around like no one would think twice about it. We all thought it was terrible.
I would comment to the above poster, but knowing how one-sided this blog has become, Shannon would not say what I feel is the truth. But the childish posting that was done before this one does in no way show any love or concern for Kari.
I'm not trying to sound catty here, but I have to clarify and ask:
1) This blog has not BECOME one-sided. From Day 1 I have said this was a blog by a friend of Kari's chronicling the case and longing for justice for Kari. It has always been FOR Kari. It didn't become. It is.
2) If you want to comment to the above poster, do so. If you're commenting, I am not the one saying the truth or not. It's your comment. I'm not saying it.
3) Which part is childish? That the person is adamant that MB killed Kari? Or the part about the obvious girlfriend?
S
Shannon, not that you will post this but I have a question! How on Gods earth is this a memory of Kari??? Your original blog says this is a site for Memories of Kari!!
One has to wonder why the girls would be better off with Kari's parents instead of the other grand parents!!!!!
I could name a million reasons why the girls are better off with the Dulin's! Where do I start?!?!
