The Dulin's believed in Matt Baker for 11 years....imagine the betrayal they felt when they discovered this man lived a dark double-life. It is tragic, but these people will all feel this betrayal of trust before it is over. This is incredibly sad.
Please post some facts to back up your statement that "this man lived a dark double-life."
What is "incredibly sad" is that you have convicted Matt Baker before one piece of evidence has been presented to a jury.
Well, give us "something" to gnaw on that will make us think anything other than he is guilty.
No. What is "incredibly sad" is that two girls are in this position. It sucks for Matt that the evidence stacks up against him. Shouldn't of done it. But what is "incredibly sad" is that the two girls are in this position.
I think I can come up with a few things that showed Matt Baker lived a "dark, double life." Where do I begin?! Lets see, he was a pervert, he hit on several people I know, and he was having an affair. And this is a man who was a preacher and who loved his family? Whatever. And that's just for starters!
Hmmm, that is a rather weak start. You need to give some factual information. If he was having an affair, then that puts him in a league with a very high number of men and women who have elicit affairs. Isn't our national divorce rate somewhere north of 50%? Being an adulterer doesn't equate to being a murderer. Being in the ministry doesn't mean you go through life without making mistakes. Ever hear of Jimmy Swaggert or Jim Bakker? You charge him with being a pervert because he "hit" on several people you know. Were they kids, teenagers, adult women, men? How about some specifics to back up this comment? Take a look at Websters -- nothing in the definition of pervert contains a reference to "hit on".
I wasn't the one that left the comment that you are referring to....BUT no where did that person say that the fact he committed adultry was proof he was a murderer. And no where did that person say that ministers can't and don't fall. That person was quantifying the "double life" Matt lead in that he was a preacher and professed to love and adore his wife and family YET his actions behind the scenes proved otherwise with at least one affair that we know of and a few allegations of sexual assault/sexual inappropriateness. (Yes, I know they are allegations....but when you have a "few" of them, hmmmm.....) They didn't say Matt's double life was proof he killed Kari. But it DOES go to character and motive. The facts from the crime scene and Kari's body, Matt's lies and inconsistencies in his stories to authorities, and forensic evidence are more along the lines of evidence of murder. As it has been said, what's "out there" now as far as evidence is but the tip of the iceberg. Have a seat. Settle in.

I appreciate your concise and well-stated counterpoint to my post. Please understand there are those who have known Matt Baker for many years who do not believe he is capable of doing what he has been charged with. The loss of your friend is heart wrenching as is the emotional toll on his children and Kari and Matt's families. At this point both sides of this terrible situation need to "have a seat...and settle in" as you stated. All any of us can hope for is knowing the truth. When that is ultimately determined, each side will have to deal with the results. Our Lord will provide all of us the strength to deal with the outcome.
Yes. I know we have common ground now. I appreciate your response. All I want is the truth. Absolute, unabashed truth. And I think everyone needs strength for the days/weeks/months/years ahead of us....and there's only one place to gain that strength.
And most of all, God bless and protect the girls. Let everyone in contact with them temper their words and emotions so as to leave the most possible amount of health and wellbeing to reside in them. It does not behoove them to feel animosity towards other family members who love and ache for them.

Where does any proof come that says MB had a 'Double life'? Does anyone that has known him for a length of time have any info on that? And was he really having an affair, or is this another fabrication that the media has run with, and people love to hear about? Any real proof of this situation? Hmmmmmm
I keep reading this to see if any of you MB bashers can give just cause for using the word "pervert" in the same sentence with Matt Baker. On what evidence are you using to back that up? In all of the media that I have seen, heard, and read, that has not been an issue, it is only when I read a blog from an obvious family/friend of Kari does that word get used. Makes me wonder, who began using it, and why?
I don't know who the above anonymous person might be, but I am wondering more and more how much proof there really is that Matt was actually having an affair, and that he was a "perfert" and basically an evil man. How come so many educated family members and friends that were around him for years and years were not ever able to see any of this, then suddenly in a moment he became bad???? Doesn't add up with me yet. In fact the more I read on this blog the more I think Matt is being set-up with "feelings" instead of truths. I am disappointed that nooone has been able to give any facts. Maybe there are known, but not shared. In the meantime extra prayers are going out for Matt as it looks like he is the one that is being falsely accussed, and for that the girls in addition to Matt will suffer for an entire lifetime.
Well, the evidence and proof won't be displayed on a blog. Don't look for it here. Doesn't mean it doesn't exist. You may want to hold off on being so sure that Matt's being set up until you see and hear the evidence.
