"I live in Kerrville, as a matter of fact, I attend the same church as Matt's parents and deal with his mother through the high school. I check this blog regularly for updates. I read all documents I can on this case. I refuse to be like other members of our church who refuse to see the truth. Anyone who reads as much about this case as I have and does not realize he is guilty, needs to re-read the documents!"From those that have left comments here and there and/or emailed me directly, I do believe this is the resounding feeling from down Kerrville way. The sheep's clothing has fallen off this wolf. Completely. Permanently.

Kerrville's Topix.com...
From "neighbor in Woodway, TX":
"I lived down the street from Matt and Kari in Hewitt. Matt was arrogant and weirdly immature for a minister his age. Even after Kari died. We felt so sorry for him but when I approached him, he seemed bored with my sentiments for him and his girls. "We'll be fine" is all he said and changed the subject to talk about what our children were doing the next weekend.
And that woman was at his house all the time just a week later. All hours. She was even at the oldest girls slumber party that same month. She had her head on his shoulder and he laid on the couch with his head in her lap. It freaked some of the girls out. That was what made me think Kari didn't die of her own will. Not kari's parents. it was all Matt.
Glad to know people in Kerrville aren't as snowed as the Bakers would have us think."

Kerrville Comment

I was given (by a friend) a "Justice for Kari" bumper sticker to show my support for Kari. I work in Kerrville. One week after I put the bumper sticker on my car, it was torn off by an unknown person/s either when I was attending a doctor's appointment or when I was parked "downtown" (by Francisco's restaurant). If MB's supporter's want to have any credibility in the eyes of the public, they need to counsel their peers not to resort to childish vandalism. It's a sad and desperate thing to resort to."
I have had numerous emails from folks in Kerrville that wanted a sticker but knew this would happen. Their support is via prayers. And we appreciate that very much!

In my Gmail inbox yesterday....
Shannon,Yes, I know this can't possibly be how every person in Kerrville feels, but I think it is important to give these folks a chance to let their feelings be known.
I've enjoyed your blog for several months now. You're doing a great job of keeping people informed and mediating the wide variety of comments you get. I read with interest the comments about how many Kerrville folks support Matt. I live in Kerrville and have met Matt. My kids know his kids from school. Please do not assume that we all blindly think he is innocent. The majority of the people I know think that there is a very good chance that he did indeed do what he has been accused of. Even many people who grew up with him or knew him as a child.
And I hate how this might hurt Matt's parents. They are actually very nice, very decent people. I just wanted to let it be known that just because we live in Kerrville does not mean that we necessarily believe in Matt's innocence. Keep up the great work!
